In its sixth year, the Young Women’s Conference provides young women of San Bernardino County with the opportunity to further their understanding and awareness of critical health and safety issues facing them at this time in their lives.
The conference, themed “A Day of Q & A,” provides answers and information to encourage healthy and responsible decision-making, and consists of a diverse line-up of presentations, speakers, and lunchtime activities.
Some of the topics include:
Body image and eating disorders
Self-esteem
Dating violence and healthy relationships
Internet and social media safety
Prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV
Teenage pregnancy prevention
Parent and educator workshop
The conference is supervised by professional health educators, San Bernardino County Sexual Assault Services, and Option House.
The conference is presented by Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and the Santos Manuel Student Union Women’s Resource Center of California State University, San Bernardino. It is held annually in mid-October at CSUSB and is free for teens who register to attend.
